Our RYA Level 2 Speed Boat Handler / Engineer can carry out Inspections, Investigations and Testing to structures that require the use of a boat to safely access any particular element.

HTA boat handlers can aide and assist your engineers in facilitating a variety of inspections (principal and or general inspections) to be carried out in a safe and timely manner.

Boats: Safe, certified & manoeuvrable

HTA boats are fully capable to be used as safety boats for inspections and come with the following additional benefits.

  • We own our own: Boats used are owned & maintained by us, saving clients boat sourcing time and hassle.

  • Certificated Boats: All our boats are British Safety Scheme (BSS) certified. Inline with Canal and River Trust and Environment Agency Regulations.

  • Access All Areas: These boats are lightweight and inflatable allowing easy access to awkward and difficult locations.

Variety of Outboard Motors

Importantly our outboard motors come in a variety of engine sizes. The more powerful ones can be utilised for manoeuvring pontoons into place, while the smaller motors work perfectly for access when water is too shallow for larger motor rotors.

Your hiring Check List

Safety is paramount when working on or near water and best practice should always be adhered to, reducing risk and liability.

Therefore, before you consider contracting a company check they have the following:

  • 1. Pontoon Training – Incorrect set-up can result in danger to engineers life.
  • 2. Water Awareness Training (DEFRA) – To facilitate land based / wading safe rescue in an emergency.
  • 3. Safety Boat Handler (RYA Speed Boat Level 2) – Safe deep water rescue.
  • 4. Engineers First Aid (Level 2) Trained – Resuscitation skills are more likely to be required when water is involved.
